LeakedIn – Was your Password Stolen?
There was an unfortunately breach of security today, this time on the professional social media network LinkedIn. It is estimated that over 6.5 million passwords were leaked. LinkedIn confirmed the leak this morning, stating that a Russian hacker obtained these coded passwords and was in the processes of decoding them. It’s likely that these passwords will be used to gain access to additional tools for those who use same password for multiple accounts.
The moral of the news? Change your password now, no matter how complex it was before.
To put your mind at ease (a little), you can use LeakedIn, a clever tool launched today that checks to see if your password was one of the millions stolen.
I would certainly recommend changing LinkedIn passwords!
